New videos submerged on YouTube this week showing the Toronto Mayor Rob Ford in another drunken stupor, according to the Associated Press.
Ford, who said this past November he would never be caught drunk on tape, was caught on video drunk in a McDonald's speaking in a bad Jamaican accent, the AP reported.
In the video Ford is shown leaning on a fast food counter rambling about surveillance and Toronto police chief Bill Blair.
"Chase me around for five months," the mayor says incoherently in the video, followed by "Leave me alone . and then try and tell me, we're counter-surveilling the guy. He's hiding here, I'm hiding here. Oh, we don't know?"
Denzil Minnan-Wong, the city councilor who pressed for Ford to step down as mayor, said he had been doing well lately, but the new videos clearly show "he's fallen off the wagon," the AP reported.
After the videos were uploaded on Monday to YouTube, Ford was already answering questions in his office about his drinking habits on Tuesday, according to the AP.
He said he drank "a little bit" the night before and confirmed it was him in the video in which an unidentified man comes into the shot at the end and calls him the best mayor Toronto has ever had, the AP reported.
Reporters also asked if he had done any drugs or drove home drunk, to which Ford responded "No," according to the AP.
"I was with some friends and what I do in my personal life with my personal friends, that's up to me," Ford told reporters in the lobby of his office. "It really has nothing to do with you guys."
Ford also said his Jamaican accent and the language he used in the video were not offensive or discriminatory, adding: "It's how I speak with some of my friends."
Deputy Mayor Norm Kelly who took most of Ford's Mayoral powers said Ford should seek professional help, the AP reported. "He's got to do a lot of soul-searching in the next few days," Kelly added.
City Councilors Joe Mihevc and Michael Thompson both expressed dim views for Ford's future plans with the city of Toronto even though he placed his name on the ballot to run again, according to the AP.
Mihevc said the videos obviously show Ford lied and has not stopped drinking and is still an embarrassment to Toronto while Thompson, who is black, said he was "numb" after watching the video, the AP reported.
"Is that the mayor speaking Jamaican? Wow," Thompson said when reporters showed him the video, according to the AP. "I'm numb."
"We've been fairly silent in just waiting for the next thing to occur," Thompson added, the AP reported. "I think we all had sort of concluded it was only a matter of time."
