Portland (31-9) continue to battle for the top spot in the Western Conference. The San Antonio Spurs (32-9) sit half-a-game ahead of Portland in the No. 1 spot, and the Oklahoma City Thunder trail Portland by half-a-game in the No. 3 spot.

Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge is putting up career numbers with 24.1 points and 11.3 rebounds per game, and second-year guard Damian Lillard continues to shine with 21.4 points and 5.8 assists per game.

After losing two consecutive games in the beginning of January, Portland bounced back with five straight wins.

"We have a pretty good record right now," Trail Blazers guard Wesley Matthews told NBA.com, via ESPN. "We're beating teams that are upper echelon, home and road. We just got to keep our heads down and stay humble and know that we can compete with anybody. We're not getting too full of ourselves. We're sticking with the process."

Some credit for the Trail Blazers' string of wins is owed to Aldridge, who's making a strong case for an invitation to the All-Star game. Aldridge is averaging 29.0 points and 13.0 rebounds per game during Portland's five-game winning streak, according to ESPN.

"We're just playing great basketball right now," Aldridge said, via ESPN. "Whenever guys guard the way they can, this team is good."

Houston (27-15), meanwhile, sits at No. 5 in the West and appears to be finding a rhythm together on the court. The Rockets won six of their last eight games, including a 114-104 win on Saturday against the Milwaukee Bucks.
