HP Elite X3 is a phablet (phone and tablet) and a PC/ laptop rolled into one device.

Although, the idea of a smartphone or tablet, which can also act as full-blown PC is not at all new.

HP claims that HP Elite X3's processing power is similar to any laptop and notebooks that the X3 can totally replace them all.

HP Elite X3 specs include Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, which promises power without draining the battery. The chipset also has the capability of processing 4K videos.

The device also does not work differently with a PC or laptop as it runs on Windows 10 continuum mode. It is even tagged as the highest end Windows 10 smartphone.

Users also have the option to connect any external display or other accessories including keyboard, mouse or external storage. All these are possible with the HP Elite X3 Desk Dock accessory.

The HP Elite X3 Desk Dock includes a display port, Ethernet slot, USB-A and USB-C ports.

If that is still not enough, HP Elite X3 can also work with an HP Lap Dock. The Lap Dock is practically a 12.5 inch blank laptop complete with a keyboard and mouse pad.

The HP Lap Dock will only work when the Elite X3 is connected via wireless or USB-C port.

HP's phablet/ smartphone also has a 5.96-inch AMOLED screen display with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution and Gorilla Glass 4.

The Elite X3 also has 4 GB LPDDR-4 RAM with Cat-6 LTE Antenna.

The new smartphone also has a 64 GB internal memory storage. But the memory is expandable up to 2 TB with a microSD.

Elite X3 has a 16 MP rear camera and 8 MP front camera. The front camera takes and blends two images for enhanced picture and video quality, even at low lights.

HP's newest smartphone also has a very tight security with both iris and fingerprint security features. Other security features include Bitlocker, secure boot, image encryption and VPN-SSL.

HP Elite X3 is available for $699. The HP Elite X3 Desk Dock can be bought in bundle with the HP Elite X3 for $799. While HP Lap Dock costs $599 on its own.
