With the holiday season in full swing, all of the attention this holiday season seems to be surrounding the new next gen consoles from Microsoft and Sony - the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 respectively. However, with so much hype around the system that people will be playing games on, some are forgetting about the games themselves. The NPD Group has revealed the top ten best-selling games in the United States for the month of November, the kickoff to the holiday shopping season.
According to the report, the total software sales for the month were $1.085 billion. This number is down 24 percent from $1.434 billion from the same time last year in 2012 according to IGN.

Not surprisingly, "Call of Duty: Ghosts" is at the top of the list as the title has been one of the most highly anticipated of the season. The game is the first from Infinity Ward and Activision following the conclusion of the Modern Warfare trilogy's story.
"This is the fourth consecutive month for an increase in combined physical sales across hardware, software and accessories. Unlike the past three months where growth was driven by software, positive trends for both hardware and accessory sales drove on overall increase of 7%," said Liam Callahan, an analyst with NPD.
