Miranda Kerr was rumored to have ended her role as a Victoria's Secret model after nearly six years with the brand. However, recent reports confirm she'll be walking the runway this year as a Victoria Secret Angel, Hollywood Life reports.
According to media reports, Kerr's $1 million contract was not renewed. US Weekly reported Kerr was not a "big seller" for the international lingerie brand which may have ended her journey alongside fellow Angels, Candice Swanepoel, Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima. Rumors were promptly denied by president and chief marketing officer of the brand, Ed Razek.
"Miranda Kerr is one of the best models in the history of the business - and easily one of the most popular," Razek said. "She is also a consummate professional. Any rumours to the contrary are simply untrue."
Razek was not disappointed despite Kerr's busy schedule and her family that kept her away for longer than expected.
"She will always be an Angel to me," he said, adding that the brand has "no plans to stop working with her. In fact, I've already invited her to walk the runway in this year's fashion show and, happily, she's agreed."
A source familiar with the matter told The New York Post in a statement that Kerr's time commitment was the concern given her busy schedule after signing the deal with Qantas and being chosen as the face of "Mango," Spanish Fashion line.
"While she loves Victoria's Secret, the time commitment they needed from her as an Angel became too much for her to fulfill," the source said. "Anyone who says otherwise about Miranda, it's just sour grapes. She is still going to walk in the show this year, and is still committed to the brand, but their relationship is evolving."
