At the end of Season 1 of "The Following", many Natalie Zea fans were left in shock as Ryan's ex-girlfriend, and avid Joe Caroll followers, viciously attacked Zea's character Claire.
It has been reported Claire will appear in Season 2. However, according to TVLine.com fans waiting for everything to be fine when we see her in Season 2, may want to temper expectations.
According to the website, Kevin Bacon hinted at the beginning to the sophomore season of "The Following".
"What happened to Claire is absolutely tragic and horrible," Bacon said. "When you see the first episode of Season 2, you'll see that Ryan has lost everything that he feels for and cares deeply about. It could not have gone worse."
On a much lighter note, TVLine also reports Ryan will be relocating to a nicer part of New York City. Hardy now lives in a nice place at 82 and Broadway in an attempt to leave some memories behind in Brooklyn.
"Obviously, after the horror I experienced in that apartment, I felt the need to move," Bacon said. The veteran actor seems to be happy his character moved into the Manhattan and that his residence is near Central Park.
"It's a good neighborhood. I run in the park," Bacon explained. "I'm feeling fine."
Another bit of news that seems to foreshadow a grim future for Claire is the introduction of a new love interest for Ryan Hardy in Season 2. The lucky lady's name is Lily Gray, a Soho art dealer. Bacon recently gave some info on his character's new love interest, played by Connie Nielsen.
"She's worldly, has an appreciation of art, is just kind of this dynamic creature," Bacon said according to TVGuide.com. "I'm not out looking for love, but something about her just draws me in. She is, in a lot of ways, similar to the way I feel about Joe."
Bacon also hinted at how the two meet.
"There's a crime, a really scary attack on a subway, and she's a victim," he explained. "I meet her... and I am just taken by her."
"The Following" returns January 2014 on FOX.
