While he's not the first animal to resemble Nazi leader Adolf Hitler, Patch the puppy has sparked media attention for his signature markings that make it appear as though he has the Furher's famous mustache and signature hair style.

Unlike his doppelganger, however, Patch's owners insist that he is a sweet and gentle dog. Though they've taken to nicknaming him "Adolf" and "Hitler"(names which Patch now allegedly responds to), they didn't initially realize the resemblance.

"He's my grandson's dog, and none of us noticed the likeness until we put a photo on Facebook," Lynda Whitehead from York, North Yorkshire told the UK Mirror"When my eldest daughter saw it she said, 'You've got a little Hitler there'. Although he's called Patch, everybody calls him Adolf now."

Seven-week-old Patch, a mix between a French Bulldog and a shih tzu, apparently also lacks the puppy "attitude" of his siblings.

"He's the runt of the litter so he's had to fight a bit more," Whitehead explained. "He is a lovely little thing. All of them are, but he is the gentlest of them all. He will sit on your lap and just look at you, until he falls asleep."

Patch and his two brothers were adopted after their French Bulldog mother rejected them. They are currently in Lynda's care being reared until they are 12-weeks-old and ready to live with her 17-year-old grandson, Dan.
