As Season 2 of "Revolution" has progressed, our heroes' mission to take down the Patriots has undergone a number of changes. They dealt with war clans, traitors and had the benefit of superpowers. However, the change that many fans are looking forward to is the one that brings Team Miles and Team Neville to come together.
When asked by TVLine about the possible reunion, showrunner Rockne S. O'Bannon said it will happen this season. However, O'Bannon reminds fans that on Tom's end, things have drastically changed-as in his wife is alive and which changes his mission for revenge.
"Avenging her death is his entire reason for going after the Patriots and wanting to assassinate the President in particular," he told the website. "He was totally on track to follow that mission, a very personal mission, and now suddenly, here's Julia showing up as he's approaching the White House.
"So the next few episodes are really very fraught as he reunites with Julia and his agenda shifts, relative to the position that she's in now with someone very high up in the Patriot hierarchy," O'Brannon adds. "It's always bubbling under the surface, that notion of how and when are our characters will start to come together and clash. You can certainly expect that to be happening some time as we get into the latter half of the season."
If O'Brannon's assurances weren't enough, Giancarlo Esposito (who plays Tom) also reassured fans our main characters would join forces.
"When the enemy grows large enough, these groups will come together - and that's soon," Esposito said in an interview with TV Line. "The realization of what has happened to our world that we once called America is going to be mind-blowing for many people, the notion that it may have all been calculated.
"So I have a feeling we're all going to have to come together against a common enemy."
The "Revolution" midseason finale may have been the most revealing episode yet but it was also the worst rated. According to EW.com, the episode drew 5.2 million viewers and had a 1.4 demo rating among adults ages 18-49. This ties the series lowest rating.
"Revolution" airs Wednesdays 9/8c on NBC.
