This past summer, popular boy band One direction devastated their millions of fans when they announced they they would be going on an extended hiatus in March 2016 for at least one year to pursue their solo projects, and it looks like band member Harry Styles has gotten a head start.

Styles, 21, has registered four new songs with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, according to E! News. The songs, which list only Styles and no other One Direction members as both the co-writer and performer, are titled "Already Home," "Coco," "Endlessly," and "5378 Miles."

This makes Styles the first current member of the band to pursue his solo career, even though former band member Zayn Malik, who left the band back in March, signed his solo contract with RCA records in July.

There's no way of knowing if these songs will ever officially be released, though, or if they're definitely even for Styles to sing, as he has written songs for other artists in the past, according to Fuse. His reps have not yet commented on the unreleased songs.

"The guys have been together for five years, which is an incredible run for a boy band. They fully deserve to have at least a year to work on their own projects. There is absolutely no bad blood between them and they are all 100 percent behind the decision," a source said back in August, as HNGN previously reported. "It is definitely not a split and they fully intend to get back together at some time in the future. But for now it is the end and they go out on top as the world's most popular music act."
