Macbook Pro 2013; Retina Displays And Improved Battery Life For Newest Generation (VIDEO)

Apple announced a new and improved MacBook Pro with Retina display.

The retina display on the 15-inch model boasts five million pixels; the 13-incher has four million. This will allow users to retouch photos and videos with "an astounding level of clarity," Apple said on their website.

"The pixel density is so high, your eyes can't discern individual pixels. Images take on a new level of realism. A spectacular 2560-by-1600 resolution on the 13‑inch MacBook Pro and an equally impressive 2880-by-1800 resolution on the 15‑inch MacBook Pro let you see more of your high-resolution images with pixel-for-pixel accuracy. And text is so sharp, you'll feel like you're reading email, web pages, and documents on a printed page," Apple reported.

The model's battery life will be more efficient than past MacBook Pros, and since it will be launched with Apple OS X 10.9 Mavericks the power consumption should be cut down even further, The Verge reported.

The laptop "gets 9 hours of battery life and has Wi-Fi that's three times as fast thanks to 802.11ac support," The Verge stated. The model will also have 4GB of 1600MHz memory, Intel's integrated Iris Graphics, and 128GB of flash storage.

For the 13-inch model, users will be able to feel a considerable difference in weight. The new Pro will be a sleek 0.71 inches thick and 3.46 pounds.

Apple dropped the price as well; the laptop will go for $1,299.

"Apple offers two other 13-inch standard configurations. The $1499 model has the same processor as the $1299 model, but carries 8GB of RAM and 256GB of flash storage. The $1799 model has a 2.6GHz dual-core Core i5 processor (Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz), 8GB of RAM, and 512GB of flash storage," MacWorld reported.

The 15-inch model has also been updated to include Iris Pro integrated graphics. The battery will last for about eight hours. The model will also come with Thunderbolt 2 and can support 802.11ac Wi-Fi, The Verge reported.

The 15-inch also received a price drop, and will be available for $1,999.
