Tesla Motors is recalling 90,000 Model S cars because of a report on a faulty front seat belt.

Khobi Brooklyn, spokeswoman for the electric automaker, confirmed the recall, further explaining that the issue was raised when a female customer reported how her seat belt disconnected when she turned to talk to people in the rear-seat. The outboard belt pretensioner is the main issue, as its anchor plates were not properly bolted together, according to CNET.

"Tesla recently found a Model S in Europe with a front seat belt that was not properly connected to the outboard lap pretensioner. This vehicle was not involved in a crash and there were no injuries. However, in the event of a crash, a seat belt in this condition would not provide full protection. First and foremost, we care about your safety," Tesla states in its e-mail to customers, Bloomberg reported.

Tesla inspected 3,000 other cars before the recall, but it was not able to find any problem. However, it is still issuing a full recall as a precautionary measure.

The Model S has been on the market since 2012, and this is the first time that they've all been recalled, which also happens to be Tesla's largest recall to date, CNN Money noted.
