Qatar Airways Changes Schedule For New Routes Launching April 10

Qatar Airways will be operating a new route to its fourth U.S. destination, Chicago, starting April 10, Breaking Travel News reported.

Due to the technical issues with the Boeing 787s, the non-stop daily Doha-Chicago route will be functional from June 15, until which the airlines plan to operate three times a week for the same route.

Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker released a statement apologizing to all the customers for the inconvenience caused.

"We sincerely apologize to our customers for the inconvenience of the capacity adjustments caused by the grounding of the 787s, which is out of our hands," he said. "We are making every effort to ensure our valued customers are aware of these service updates and are accommodated accordingly."

All passengers who have booked tickets on the dates when the flights remain non-functional were contacted by the airlines to rebook on any alternate routes and flights.

Qatar Airways had also planned on launching a new route to its sixth point in China, Chengdu, which was originally due to be operational thrice a week from 19 March. It has been postponed to a later date, which is yet to be announced.
