During the season premiere of “The Good Wife” we were introduced to the second Carey (Ben Rappaport), one of the fourth years leaving Lockhart & Gardener for Florrick & Agos. One thing that became apparent about Carey Zepps is that he’s not a warm and fuzzy character and according to TVGuide.com, and Rappaport knows it.

"You first meet him and you're not sure if you trust him, if he's kind of a snake or if he's OK,” Rapparort said of his character in an interview with TV Guide. “You really kind of have to watch to get to know him.”

Viewers’ first impression of Carey came when he asked Alicia if he and the other fourth years could tell their clients that Alicia Florrick, the governor’s wife, would be joining the firm—something that was supposed to be kept a secret at first. Later in the episode Carey challenged Alicia after she found out the fourth years wanted to wait three weeks to leave the firm. Alicia explained that she wanted to leave sooner and Carey replied that she was just thinking about Will’s (Josh Charles) feelings and not about her new firm.

However, Rappaport says that there’s more to his character including the fact that he actually respects Alicia.

"I think Carey Zepps really looks up to Alicia and really admires how good of a lawyer she is and how smart she is and feels like he can learn a lot from her," Rappaport explains.

In other “The Good Wife” news fans are going to get the anticipated Will vs. Alicia battle before the end of the year. The show’s co-creator Robert King said the two lawyers will face off during the 100th episode and it will get ugly fast.

“There’s going to be a whole act where they use what they know about each other from their love affair in a courtroom battle,” King said in an interview with TVLine.com. “They’re going to basically undercut each other every step of the way.”

“The Good Wife” airs Sunday at 10/9c on CBS.
