Castle Season 6 Spoilers: Beckett Returns to New York: But Not for the Reasons You Think

After the season premiere of "Castle", it’s pretty apparent that things are going to be difficult for Rick and Kate (besides the fact Rick was infected by a deadly virus and has a day to live.) However, assuming he survives this brush with death, there’s still the issue of his relationship issues with Beckett (Stana Katic). One’s things clear—Beckett needs to come back to New York.

The Good News—According to TVLine, she does.

The Bad News—It’s not for the reason you might think.

The website reports that Kate and her mentor McCord (Lisa Edelstein) come to the big apple when Ryan (Seamus Dever) and Esposito (Ruben Santiago-Hudson) begin tot take on a pretty big investigation in the third episode.

“Beckett and McCord come in and take over the case,” showrunner Andrew W. Marlowe tells TVLine. “So now it’s the boys against the girls. And Castle’s caught in the middle.”

Who will Castle choose? It’s possible that he'll want to help Beckett, but McCord will definitely not be open to any suggestions he has to offer. On the other hand, Ryan and Esposito may be more than happy to have Castle help but our favorite author is not going to want to betray his fiancé.

Nevertheless, before that happens Castle still has to beat this virus. Maybe this traumatic event could bring “Caskett” a little bit close. As their relationship sits right now, they could use all the emotional moments they can get.
