American Airlines is being accused of neglect after an elderly woman claimed that her attendant abandoned her as she was bound to a wheelchair in a large and bustling international airport, according to the Daily Mail.

Rosario Sanchez, 98, says that she was flying in from Madrid to see her daughter, as she has done every year for 45 years.

Her family requested an attendant because of her advanced age, but instead of seeing to her needs, she said the attendant left her strapped to her wheel chair in baggage claim for 90 minutes.

Rosa McElreath, her daughter, arrived at the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport expecting her mother to emerge from the crowd of people.

"When I saw the people from Madrid coming through and I wait for her and I panicked I thought maybe she didn't come," said McElreath.

Sanchez also believes that airport employees lied to her, and was told to wait to connect to another flight, according to Fox News.

"He kept telling her she can't leave; she had to stay there," said McElreath.

AirServ, the company that works in conjunction with American Airlines, is under evaluation according to one of the flight company's spokespeople, according to CBS Local.

The elderly woman is demanding an apology.
