The verbal feud going on between Ronda Rousey and Floyd Mayweather Jr. shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Both fighters are known for being great at their sports but they are also both known for talking a big game. Neither fighter has lost a match in their respective sports but Rousey said, during an Ask Me Anything chat on Reddit, that if she were to face off with Mayweather in a no-rules fight she would win, according to ESPN.
Rousey is 12-0 in her fighting career and has won in the first round in all but one of those 12 fights. Rousey has yet to let a fight go to a decision from the judges and she has dominated the sport like nobody else before her. Mayweather on the other hand has also never lost but he does it in less dominating fashion as he typically wins with defense.
Rousey's comments about a no-rules fight did come with some respectful words for Mayweather and his success as a boxer in his career.
"Floyd is one of the best boxers of all time he would definitely beat me in a boxing match. I unfortunately don't get into 'matches.' I fight for a living," said Rousey.
Rousey later went on to say that she has confidence she can beat anyone in a no-rules fight whether it's Mayweather or anyone else.
"In a no-rules fight, I believe I can beat anyone on this planet, boxing is a sweet science with strict rules that I respect very much and aspire every day to improve at. But you said ruleless fight, and that's my honest answer," said Rousey.
This proclamation from Rousey comes about a month after she called out Mayweather after winning the ESPY for Best Fighter saying "I wonder how Floyd feels being beat by a woman for once. I'd like to see him pretend to not know who I am now." Those comments stemmed from Mayweather claiming to not know who Rousey was during an interview in 2014.
Rousey's next fight has yet to be officially scheduled but the matchup everyone has been clamoring for is a fight with Cris 'Cyborg' Justino who has said she will cut weight in order to make the match happen. Mayweather on the other hand is planning to box one more time before he retires and his opponent will be Andre Berto on September 12, a fight which many people are not excited about as Berto isn't the sendoff match people were hoping for.
