The first official trailer for “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1” debuted online after making the rounds at the San Diego Comic-Con 2014 floor.

The teaser revealed District 13 President Alma Coin’s (Julianne Moore) hesitation about using Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) as the face of the rebellion. Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman) is adamant Katniss is the leader the rebellion needs.

Meanwhile President Snow is in the Capitol making sure the Mockingjay symbol doesn’t appear on the streets of Panem. Snow stated any association with the Mockingjay is forbidden and death comes to those who stand with the Rebellion.

Finally, the trailer revealed Katniss standing amongst the Rebels when a follower asks if she will fight with them. Katniss agreed to fight againts the oppressive Capitol.

The teaser is the first time Katniss has made an appearance since Lionsgate began promoting the film. The studio began releasing Capitol propaganda showcasing how they have helped the District and why Rebels threaten the system.

The studio also released President Snow’s address, featuring a stoic Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) and Johanna Mason (Jena Malone) dressed in all white by his side. However, Beetee (Jeffrey Wright) interrupts the end of the address, and reveals Katniss is alive.

What you won’t see in the trailer is anything relating to the real status of Peeta and Johanna. It is clear they are captives of the Capitol, but book readers know what happens to the pair is cruel.

Haymitch (Woody Harrelson), Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks) and Katniss’ family are nowhere to be found in the trailer as well.

“The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1” will be released to theaters on Nov. 21.
