Ashton Kutcher finally filed for divorce with Demi Moore Dec. 21 in L.A. Superior Court, reports Us Weekly.
The divorce file cites incompatibility as the reason for the split and Kutcher is not seeking any spousal support or denying Moore's any request.
"They've been in negotiations, and the filing was done while Ashton wasn't in town," a source close to the situation told Us Weekly. "The filing may have been an aggressive financial move for him."
Kutcher and Moore were married for six years before they announced their split November 2011, after a highly publicized Kutcher's fling with a 22-year-old San Diego-based administrative assistant. Sara Leal.
"As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life," Moore said, reported Us Weekly.
It will be Moore's third divorce after Freddy Moore in 1985 and Bruce Willis in 1998. The couple have three daughters, Rumer, Scout and Tallulah.
"I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi," Kutcher said in a Tweeted statement about the split, according to Us Weekly. "Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail. Love and light, AK."
Since the separation, Kutcher has been dating 29-year old Mila Kunis. Moore then entered rehab after she suffered a breakdown at her Beverly Hills Home and for inhaling nitrous oxide.
