Ben Affleck Thinking of Diving into Politics

Is Ben Affleck ready to trade his Hollywood career for a full-time career in politics? The actor himself is not sure.

Affleck has been an active part of the Democratic Party politics for years now. The "The Proposal" actor visited Washington Wednesday to testify on security in the Congo.

Is it time for the switch?

The Boston native's name was brought up as a potential candidate for a Senate run to fill John Kerry's seat who's slated to become the next Secretary of State.

But would the actor consider taking up this role?

"One never knows. I'm not one to get into conjecture," Affleck said when Bob Schieffer, the host of CBS's "Face The Nation" "I do have a great fondness and admiration for the political process in this country. It's a big deal for me to come down here and be on your show that I've watched so much, but I'm not going to get into speculation about my political future."

The actor is married to Jennifer Garner for eight years and have two daughters, Violet and Seraphina and a nine-month old son, Samuel.

Affleck also expressed his wife's desire to travel, which she gave up for the sake of their kids.

"My wife would just love to travel, but having three children in a row has meant that I travel more than she does. She wants to travel so much," he said, according to NZ Herald.
