Agent Peggy Carter is heading to sunny California.

ABC announced on Tuesday that "Agent Carter" would move the action from New York to Los Angeles in its second season. The Marvel series will run during the winter hiatus of its sister show, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."

Hayley Atwell will reprise her role as the SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve) agent on a dangerous mission to fight against "new atomic age threats in the wake of World War II" in L.A., according to ABC's description (via IGN). In addition to her assignment, Carter will find new friends, a new home and possibly a new love interest on the West Coast.

"She's about to find out that the bright lights of the post-war Hollywood mask a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect," the description reads.

So far, Atwell is the only person signed on for the second season. Her fellow co-stars James D'Arcy as Edwin Jarvis, Enver Gjokaj as Agent Daniel Sousa and Chad Michael Murray as Agent Jack Thompson could conceivably follow Carter on her mission.

It may be a little harder to explain her roommate Angie Martinelli (Lyndsy Fonseca) making the trip west, but the aspiring actress could take her dreams of Broadway to Hollywood.

Dominic Cooper returning as Howard Stark may also prove a challenge. Cooper has joined the pilot for AMC series, "Preacher," which may make him unavailable to return in his guest-starring role.

Peggy Carter will continue to keep popping up on the big screen in Marvel's blockbusters. She made a small appearance in "Avengers: Age of Ultron" and will join the action again this summer in "Ant-Man."

"Agent Carter" will return at midseason.
