After appearing on national television and disclosing his personal life to the world in what was described as "the most liberating thing he has ever done," Bruce Jenner can now take a deep breath and continue on his journey.
Well, maybe not.
In an attempt to humiliate Bruce and, perhaps, expose his private habits, ex-wife Kris Jenner allegedly threatened to release secret footage of the 65-year-old cross-dressing during the filming for "Keeping Up with the Kardashians."
"Cameras caught Bruce wearing a dress in his closet at their Hidden Hills house on several occasions," an insider told Radar Online. "It was almost as if Bruce had wanted to get caught, but he was unaware that it was captured on film."
"On one occasion, Kris had been shooting in her dressing room, and Bruce could be seen in the background scurrying out of the shot because he was in a dress," the source said.
Rather than forgetting about the tape altogether, Kris, instead, used it as a way to have control over Bruce.
"In the early stages of Bruce and Kris' separation, she had threatened to release the footage, along with pictures of multiple dresses in Bruce's closet."
"This was one of Bruce's reasons to do the docuseries," the source continued. "He wanted to put it out there, and not anyone else. Now that he's gone public, Kris no longer has any leverage on Bruce."
Now that Bruce has answered the public's questions - for the most part - the tape has no value whatsoever.
Kris is reportedly "livid for so many reasons right now," a family member disclosed.
Oh well, Bruce seems to be perfectly happy and more alive than ever.
"She was not at all happy with Bruce discussing several of the things that she told him were off-limits, but what's done is done."
"More than anything else, it (the interview) sent a message to Kris that he wasn't going to tolerate her threats or temper tantrums anymore," a source close to Bruce said.
Despite Kris' malicious efforts, Bruce has not spoken badly about her at all. In fact, he said she was one of the women who "changed his life," and that he truly loved her.
"I had a wonderful life with her. I learned a lot from her," he said.
The former Olympian recently officially confirmed to Diane Sawyer that he "is a woman," and he hopes to inspire and help members of the transgender community.
"What I'm doing is going to do some good. And we're going to change the world. I really firmly believe that," Jenner said during the interview. "We're going to make a difference in the world with what we're doing. If the whole Kardashian show and reality TV gave me a foothold into that world, to be able to go out there and do something good, I'm all for it."
He joked that "all this time" "KUWTK" viewers thought that the girls had all of the drama and the big "real" stories, but it was he who had been keeping his "true self" hidden.
"I had the story," he said.
Jenner explained that he wanted to come out on his own terms and, if and when he does decide to undergo full gender reassignment surgery, it will be a quiet process and "no one will know."
Bruce Jenner's reality show will air on E! this summer.
