Vice has been working with HBO since 2013. The magazine's documentary program received an Emmy in 2014 for Outstanding Informational Series or Special and is already renewed throughout 2016.

On Thursday, HBO and Vice strengthened their ties as the network announced a new deal that gives the magazine show a daily newscast. Along with the five-day-a-week show, Vice will also air its documentary series until at least 2019 and with 35 episodes each season rather than the current 14, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Shane (Smith) and the Vice team have produced some of the most groundbreaking and dynamic journalism anywhere," HBO CEO Richard Plepler and president Michael Lombardo said. "This extension of the HBO/Vice relationship, which will include more shows, more documentaries and even a Vice daily newscast is a natural evolution of our partnership.

"All of us at HBO couldn't be more excited working with the Vice team and helping to tell the stories which define our world."

As further signs of faith in Vice, HBO will allow 32 of the show's specials until 2019 and give the magazine a channel on the network's upcoming streaming service HBO Now.

Smith, Vice CEO and co-founder, said his company's relationship with HBO gives its reporters endless possibilities for chasing stories.

"I think the first thing, perhaps the hardest thing, I learned about journalism over the past 20 years is that maintaining any type of independence, any type of freedom, is difficult as you scale up," added Smith. "This deal, simply put, allows Vice the freedom to go after any story, anywhere we find it - and to do so with complete independence. This deal is a tremendous gift and a tremendous opportunity, and we at Vice realize this."

Vice's daily newscast will be in the fourth quarter of 2015, USA Today reported.
