Two bodies have been found during a North Carolina investigation into the murders of a pregnant Food Network star and her husband, the Citizen-Times has learned.

While the bodies may be that of 38-year-old Cristie Codd and her husband Joseph Codd, 45, no confirmation has been made as of Friday morning. Authorities have not yet released any details as to where the bodies were found or a cause of death.

"I did a brief exam of these remains," Buncombe County Medical Examiner Sharon Sweede told the newspaper on Thursday.  "We don't have positive identifications. We really can't make any other comment."

Sweede would not say why an immediate identification could not be made, but she told CBS News, "They haven't found anything that would easily ID them."

Earlier this week, a suspect named Robert Jason Owens was charged with murdering the couple and their unborn child. The Codds hired the contractor to work on their Leicester home.

Owens is also charged with larceny after he allegedly broke into the couple's home on Sunday- the same day they were reported missing- and stole electronics, jewelry and a weapon worth a collective $1,500, the Citizen-Times reported.

Investigators are looking into Owens as a suspect in another disappearance case involving a North Carolina teenager named Zebb Quinn, last seen in 2000.

Though the Codds were reported missing by their family on Sunday, police believe they were killed last week Thursday.

Cristie Codd, also known as Cristie Schoen, owned a catering business that provided services for major Hollywood films, with one of her latest projects for Will Smith's current film "Focus." She was also known as a finalist on season eight of the show "Food Network Star"

The celebrity chef and her husband, who worked as a grip, were expecting a child due in about four months.
