Fans driving to a Dave Matthews concert got the delight of their lives when they decided to do a good Samaritan deed and picked up a hitchhiker along the way who turned out to be none other than Dave Matthews himself.

Emily Kraus and her boyfriend spotted the singer Dave Matthews, 46, while they were on their way to see him perform, according to CBS 21. The South African born singer had no cell phone and his bike had just gotten a flat tire, leaving him stranded with no way to get to his own show.

"He was out for a ride just before the show, and his tire popped," Kraus wrote on Facebook.

She pulled over, and her boyfriend helped Matthews lift the bike into a rack on top of their car which luckily enough, they had just installed a week prior to the incident.

"I didn't have a cell phone on the bicycle," Matthews later told the crowd at Hersheypark Stadium. "And then a nice lady named Emily rode up in a red car with a bicycle rack on it and gave me a ride to the gig."

During the ride over to the concert venue, the two fans were so star struck, they were rendered speechless.

"So we didn't know how to make conversation with him in fact, so we were talking about his tour and where he had come from. He had just been in Cincinnati and he said 'I'm taking a short break after this one because I have to drop my daughters off at camp,' and he was just a very humble guy," Kraus told the news station.

When they arrived at the gig, Matthews was so grateful that he invited Emily and her boyfriend to dinner.

'We felt out of place. I said I feel like I'm out of place,' said Kraus.

'Then they went back stage and enjoyed the show from the front row. 'I woke up this morning, and I rolled over and I said , okay yeah that really happened yesterday ha ha ha ha! It was surreal we couldn't believe it.'
