The new-look Buffalo Bills have already proven they aren't afraid to spend money or shake up the roster.
Years of poor to middling performances have left the Buffalo fanbase desperate for a winner and head coach Rex Ryan is seemingly intent on giving one to them.
After adding Richie Incognito as a free agent, Ryan went and traded for running back LeSean McCoy and then added quarterback Matt Cassel, immediately upgrading two major positions on offense in less than 48 hours.
He then inked free agent pass-rusher Jerry Hughes to a new contract, keeping him from hitting the NFL free agency market and ensuring he'll be sacking quarterbacks as a Bill for seasons to come.
Ryan still isn't finished.
"Hearing the #Bills aren't slowing down anytime soon. Pushing to sign Mike Iupati or Bryan Bulaga," tweeted Ross Jones of Fox Sports.
Jones also believes the team could have interest in wide receiver Percy Harvin, expected to be released by the Jets once the Brandon Marshall trade becomes official.
The Bills had the 26th-ranked run blocking offensive line in the league last season per Football Outsiders - they were 19th in pass protection. Adding a dominant player like Iupati on the interior or an underrated guy like Bulaga at tackle would immediately solidify one spot along the line - something that usually has a trickle-down effect on the players around them.
Iupati has spent his five-year NFL career as part of a Niners offensive line touted as one of the league's best - a line that has helped running back Frank Gore reach the 1,000-yard plateau every season since Iupati entered the league.
Bulaga isn't a mauler like Iupati, but he comes from a winning organization in Green Bay and has developed into a versatile and highly capable young tackle.
For a Bills team that seems destined to be built on the running game and playing strong defense, offensive line upgrades are sorely needed. Iupati or Bulaga would go a long way toward that end.
Harvin is a dynamic talent who would look very good playing opposite Sammy Watkins one play and operating out of the backfield the next. Ryan traded for him last season with the Jets.
