NBA 2K14 Feature Rumors: More Authentic Celebrations to be Included in Game

2K Sports has released another small tidbit about NBA 2K14. The “NBA 2K” franchise has made a name for itself through its authenticity. Whether it’s the pre-game rituals, Shawn Marion’s weird jump shot form or the way in which LeBron James looks in the rim after he jumps, the video game is a lot like the real NBA game.

In keeping with that authenticity, 2K Sports will include the in-game celebrations of Golden State Warriors guard Kent Bazemore, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Bazemore was a rookie last season and did not get much playing time. He played in 61 of the 82 regular season games and averaged 4.4 minutes per game.

Therefore, he had many opportunities to celebrate the highlights during the Warriors season—possibly forward Harrison Barnes’ dunk over Minnesota Timberwolves center Nikola Pekovic or guard Steph Curry’s ridiculous shooting performance in Madison Square Garden.

Below is the monstrous dunk by Barnes (courtesy of kietasss). While the dunk is great, try to pay attention to the celebration by Bazemore just so you can get a glimpse of what will be coming to the game.

Digital Marketing Director Ronnie Singh posted a video on July 2 of the motion-capture session with Bazemore which you can see below. It may not be as real and spontaneous as the celebration during Barnes dunk, but it still brings a sense of accuracy to the game.

Last week 2K sports also said 14 Euroleague teams would be included in “NBA 2K14.”

“NBA 2K14” hits stores for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on October 1. There is still no word on its release date for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
