Reality TV star Ahmad "Real" Givens died on Feb. 21 after a long battle with an aggressive form of cancer. He was 33.
Ahmad's brother, Kamal "Chance" Givens, announced the news on his Instagram page Saturday morning.
"By [sic] to my favorite guy in this while world be in peace we love you forever bro I'll see you one day soon we shall dance again in God's kingdom forever and ever bro words can't describe my pain world pray for me!" he posted.
Back in October it was reported that Ahmad had started chemotherapy again after doctors discovered that his cancer had spread to his lungs and liver. Kamal told TMZ that his brother's condition had gotten worse in January when Ahmad fell.
He had been bedridden ever since. Reportedly, the family started saying their goodbyes Friday night when Ahmad's vision and speech started to go. In 2013, Ahmad revealed that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer.
"That day was surreal. I felt like I was dreaming," he said during an interview last year, People magazine reports. "It felt unreal all the way up until I had to do chemo."
Speaking about the moments before he had been told the colon cancer had spread to his liver, Ahmad said: "I remember I was laying on the hospital bed and the doctor came in crying and when I saw her crying I knew it was something serious. My doctors thought I had, like, three days to live so they just zapped me with chemo. I left out of there with my veins burning and everything."
Ahmad had been very open with his cancer battle and often updated fans on his condition via Instagram and Twitter. One of his latest posts was showing fans a scar he had from surgery and in another he thanked fans for their birthday wishes.
Ahmad and Kamal competed on VH1's "I Love New York" and went on to star in their own spinoff show, "Real Chance of Love."
