Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures rocked the entertainment world late Monday night when they announced a blockbuster deal that will bring Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The web-slinging superhero will appear first in an upcoming Marvel movie (most likely "Captain America: Civil War") and then star in a standalone movie, set to release on July 28, 2017.

"Thor: Ragnarok" originally held that date and has been pushed to Nov. 3, 2017. Three other upcoming Marvel movies also had their premiere dates shifted back including "Black Panther," "Captain Marvel" and "Inhumans."

The premieres for both parts of "Avengers: Infinity War" were unaffected by the change in Marvel's movie slate. The first "Infinity War" movie will still open on May 4, 2018 followed by part two on May 3, 2019.
