Alec Baldwin’s Twitter Account Deactivated After Angry Outburst Against Tabloid Story

Alec Baldwin's official Twitter account (@ABFalecbaldwin) now leads to a dead link. It had seen massive activity yesterday after some serious venting by the actor against a tabloid and its journalist. His ire was directed against the Daily Mail and its writer George Stark, who reported that Baldwin's wife Hilaria Baldwin was tweeting during James Gandolfini's funeral.

In an article dated June 27, Daily Mail wrote, "The pregnant yoga instructor's social media feed was full of upbeat posts while the Sopranos star's friends, family and co-stars were gripped with grief at a New York Catholic church. Messages included a request for ideas about wedding anniversary presents and promotional notes about her upcoming appearance on the Rachael Ray show."

Hilaria Baldwin defended herself through her handle on Twitter. "FYI I don't believe in bringing phones into a funeral and I never did and I never would," was her first tweet. "Here is some info... When someone tweets something at a certain time, and you retweet it later, it posts the TIME the first person tweeted," she posted later, clarifying her stand that she didn't send out those tweets during the funeral.

Meanwhile, Alec Baldwin took up the cudgels on behalf of his wife. Buzzfeed chronicled his angry tweets against Daily Mail and Stark. "Someone wrote that my wife was tweeting at a funeral. Hey. That's not true. But I'm gonna tweet at your funeral," was reportedly his first tweet. Baldwin upped the ante and the foul language after a while. "George Stark, you lying little bitch. I am gonna f%#@ you up," was another tweet. "My wife DID NOT use her phone, in any capacity, at our friends funeral. Now, fuck this twitter + good luck to all of you who know the truth," was probably his last tweet on the matter before his account was deleted.

Hilaria Baldwin also continued to tweet on the matter, "My husband fights for me fiercely. It hurts to be misunderstood and it hurts to see your loved one in pain-even more so when she is pregnant." At last check, she tried to bring the focus back to the funeral. "Today was supposed to be about remembering a friend, loving each other, treasuring life, & moving fwd w more appreciation for our fragility," she wrote.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Alec Baldwin has deactivated his account twice before - the first time after a dispute with American Airlines and the second after he got married to Hilaria Baldwin in 2012.
