Winter can be a dreary and depressing time for many, but if you are in Nashville things may be a bit brighter thanks to a dog's kind gesture.

A pup named Doug the pug wanted to go to a nearby homeless shelter, the city fire department, and stores around the area inorder to fulfill his New Year's resolution of giving out messages with kind words according to Mashable. He also includes encouraging thoughts that people can use throughout their day.

Doug kisses people he comes across when he strolls the streets of Music City on the way to his different locations according to One Green Planet. Some notes even comes in Spanish if necessary.

"Doug makes a lot of people happy on the internet," Leslie Mosier, Doug's owner told Mashable. "So I wanted to find a way to brighten the days of strangers here in Nashville."

Moiser hopes Doug can continue to inspire people through different avenues.

It's true that a dog can turn around even the worst of days, and I'd love to find ways to continue making people smile through Doug in the future," Moiser said.
