President Zuma Cancels Trip, Says Ailing Mandela On Life Support

South African President Jacob Zuma canceled his trip to Mozambique on Wednesday amid reports that the ailing former President Nelson Mandela was on life support.

As Mandela's health remained critical for the fourth consecutive day, all the tribal leaders in the country were reportedly warned to be prepared for the sad news.

An official told CNN Wednesday that Mandela was on life support but government spokesman Mac Maharaj refused to elaborate on the report.

Following a visit to the ailing peace icon, the South African president canceled his trip, which apparently shows the seriousness of Mandela's health condition.

The president reiterated his gratitude to all the people in the country who continue to support the family of Nelson Mandela.

People were reportedly lighting candles outside the hospital where Mandela is battling for life, praying for the recovery of the 94-year-old Nobel Peace Prize Laureate.

Nelson Mandela is widely revered for his leading role in South Africa's fight against the white minority rule in the country.

Many people in the country fear that his demise might cause a "Mandela crash" in the country with falling stocks and currency.

Mandela was hospitalized in Pretoria earlier this month with lung infection. This is his third hospitalization in the last six months.
