Channing Tatum opened up about baby Everly for the first rime while promoting his new movie "White House Down." In the action flick he plays a Capitol policeman that tries to save his daughter and protect the President. He revealed to E! News that it was crazy for him to have a daughter on the movie and in real-life now.
"Jenna and I weren't pregnant then, but we conceived on that movie," he told E! News. "So it's kinda crazy that I had a daughter on the movie... and now we just had our own, little, cutest, most amazing thing ever."
He said his wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum has been handling everything just fine and is definitely adjusting to motherhood. Of course since giving birth only three weeks ago she is tired so he said he tries to help out as much as possible by changing diapers and getting them whatever they want. When asked about a second child he jokingly told ET Canada, "We could possibly have some Irish twins. I don't know"
He also said that the two decided to post the adorable first picture of baby Everly on their social media pages because they did not want to sell the picture to a tabloid.
"We didn't want to go through a tabloid - we just wanted to let it out so paparazzi would stop trying to hound us," Tatum said. "You know, 'Here it is, that's it. Now, let us be.'"
The two welcomed a little girl into the world on May 30 in London. Tatum and his wife were overseas while the "Magic Mike" star was filming his new movie "Jupiter Ascending." Before giving birth, Dewan-Tatum told Glamour magazine that she had no doubt that the two of them would be great parents.
"Who knows what kind of parents we'll be? We have two dogs, so we've had some practice!" she told the magazine. "And as soon as this baby comes into the world, Channing and I will figure it out real fast."
It seems both parents have adjusted to parenthood just fine. He said the hardest thing about going back to work right away was all the time he's missing with his daughter.
"I'm away from her for 12-13 hours and I feel like I come home and I feel like she's changed - like her face looks different. You feel like every minute you miss is horrible."
