The surviving members of the Grateful Dead announced on Friday that they will reconvene for three shows at Chicago's Soldier Field to celebrate the legendary band's 50th anniversary.

The band lineup will feature Dead members Bob Weir (guitar/vocals), Phil Lesh (bass/vocals), Mickey Hart (drums) and Bill Kreutzmann (drums), as well as pianist/vocalist Bruce Hornsby, who played with the band in the early 1990s, and keyboard player Jeff Chimenti, who played in various Dead offshoot bands. Phish guitarist/vocalist Trey Anastasio will also perform with the group.

"We're thrilled to announce 'Fare Thee Well: Celebrating 50 Years of Grateful Dead'. To celebrate the band's 50th anniversary, Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh, and Bob Weir will reunite at Chicago's Soldier Field, to perform on July 3, 4, and 5, 2015, marking the Grateful Dead's last-ever performance together," the Grateful Dead posted on its Facebook page.

Jerry Garcia, the Dead's iconic, bespectacled singer and guitarist, died in 1995. Since then, the surviving members have played together in various incarnations, including The Other Ones, The Dead, and most recently, Furthur, a band that featured Weir and Lesh that recently called it quits.

The Chicago event takes its name from the first three words of the Dead classic song "Brokedown Palace."
