Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg feels that his idea might not be good enough for his New Year’s resolution, so he is now tapping more than 1.35 billion Facebook users to help him think of a new one for 2015.

"I'm crowdsourcing ideas for my next year's personal challenge. For background, every year I take on a challenge to broaden my perspective and learn something about the world beyond my work at Facebook," he wrote in a public post on New Year's day. "I have an idea of what my next challenge might be, but I'm open to more ideas before the new year officially begins. So share your ideas here!"

Zuckerberg's post immediately went viral; as of writing, it has more than 3,000 shares, more than 130,500 likes and more than 30,000 comments.

In the past, Zuckerberg's New Year's resolution included writing a "Thank you" note to someone every day, learning to speak Mandarin, meeting someone who does not work for him, wearing a tie and going vegetarian.

His New Year's resolution crowd sourcing strategy worked as many offered ideas to him.

Here are some of the ideas offered by Facebook users, and what Zuckerberg thinks about them. I picked only the Top Comments.

Ryan Connor: "Plant a tree for every new facebook user that joins in 2015. Name the tree after the user."

Zuckerberg: "That would be a lot new trees."

Yvonne Chen: "Run one mile every day, rain or shine. And you can't run 2 miles one day and have it eliminate the run for the next day. The challenge is to do it every day."

Zuckerberg: "Interesting idea!"

Matt Schaar: "Have a conversation with a stranger every day - and see how you can help one another achieve a goal."

Zuckerberg: I did this last year!

Daniel Cooper: "Do one menial task per week. I.e. take over a shift for your janitor, someone in the cafeteria, work a shift at Starbucks. Just try to get your feet on the ground with what some people do."

Zuckerberg: "Does walking my dog and picking up his poop count?"

Zuckerberg might not consider most of the ideas given, but the comments are worth reading as you might pick up one for your own New Year's resolution if you haven't thought of one yet. It is also nice to see that he is actually responding to users' comments.
