Slash's wife Perla Ferrar jetted off to Hawaii shortly after Christmas and reportedly told the 49-year-old rocker he needed to get his act together by New Year's Day. According to TMZ, Slash decided to end their 13-year marriage and filed for divorce on Tuesday.
Sources told the site that the former Guns N' Roses guitarist filed the documents in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences. This is the second time Slash has filed for divorce. Back in 2010, he filed paperwork to end the marriage but changed his mind a few months later so they could work out their issues.
This time, it's real and the rocker is asking for joint legal and physical custody of their two sons - London, 12, and Cash, 10. Slash has not publicly addressed the split but Ferrar has been hinting at the divorce on social media.
"The saddest thing about betrayal is that it never comes from your enemies. It comes from friends and loved ones. #surprise #figures #newyearnewlife," she wrote on Instagram.
"A single lie discovered is enough to create doubt in every truth expressed," she posted.
The two got married in October 2011 and renewed their vows in 2011.
"The wedding was magical! Minster quoted dali lama: true meaning of love is to hope for your partners true happiness. I'm more in luv 2day then ever!" Ferrar tweeted at the time.
