We finally have a lot more exciting details about "The Walking Dead" spinoff/companion series! According to E! Online, the series is expected to begin filming next month in a brand new location.

The original series is filmed and takes place in Atlanta, and it was rumored that the spinoff would take place in Pennsylvania, but it turns out the zombie outbreak is heading to Los Angeles. E! also reports that the pilot includes scenes involving a school and a hospital.

We're already intrigued! So far, AMC has not commented on the new information but the network did release the names of three of the actors who will star in the still-untitled spinoff. Cliff Curtis will play the main male lead character named Sean Cabrera, who is described as a "good man trying to do right by everyone in his life."

He joins Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey who will play brother and sister on the new show. Their characters are most likely named Nick Tompkins and Ashley Tompkins, respectively. According to Deadline, their mother, who is a former guidance counselor, is still being cast.

The new series will feature all new characters and could take place during a different time of the zombie apocalypse than the current series. There were rumors that the show could tell how the outbreak started or pick up years after the outbreak when people have learned to live together with the walkers.

"There are many corners of 'The Walking Dead' universe that remain unseen in the shadows. Being given the opportunity to shine a light into those corners and see what lurks out there is an absolute thrill. I know the fans ae anxious to hear what Dave [Erickson] and I have been cooking up for this new universe of 'The Walking Dead,' and I'm happy to be one step closer to sharing it with them," Kirkman previously said in a statement when the pilot was announced.
