Disney revisits the fairy tale "Cendrillon" by Charles Perrault in the studio's latest live-action film "Cinderella." Walt Disney and his animators first adapted the classic story in 1950.

Lily James stars in the titular role surrounded by an all-star cast. Cate Blanchett plays Cinderella's wicked stepmother Lady Tremaine and Helena Bonham Carter comes to the rescue as her fairy godmother. "Game of Thrones" hunk Richard Madden will glide the glass slipper onto her foot in the film directed by Kenneth Branagh.

The trailer delivers many of the "Cinderella" hallmarks including the magical pumpkin carriage, the friendly mice and, of course, the glass slipper. The film will also give greater insight into Cinderella's life before her father remarried.

"I want to tell you a secret that will see you through all the trials that life can offer," her dying mother tells her as young child. "Have courage and be kind."

Disney spotlighted the villain Maleficent from "Sleeping Beauty" in her own film last spring. Angelina Jolie starred as the evil fairy with Ella Fanning as Princess Aurora.

The studio will next bring "The Jungle Book" to life with Jon Favreau's film starring Scarlett Johansson, Bill Murray, Idris Elba, Christopher Walken, Lupita Nyong'o and Ben Kingsley. The film is set to premiere on Oct. 9, 2015.

"Cinderella" premieres in theaters on March 13, 2015.
