Over 26 pounds of marijuana was found inside a statue of Jesus on Friday, according to a release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in Cincinnati.

"This unique seizure demonstrates the extraordinary methods individuals will utilize in their attempt to smuggle narcotics," Cincinnati Port Director Richard L. Gillespie said in the release. "This seizure further illustrates the vigilance of CBP officers in interdicting contraband entering the country."

The marijuana found was worth over $20,000 in total.

The drugs were found by a CBP dog named Freddy. The package of marijuana found in the statue was coming from Mexico and destined for San Juan, Puerto Rico, according to the release.

When Freddy picked up the smell of marijuana in the statue he alerted CBP, who then x-rayed the statue to see what the dog was sensing.

The x-ray images revealed "anomalies" inside, leading to CBP to drill a hole inside the statue and revealed the "green leafy substance." Tests confirmed the suspicions substance was marijuana.
