Even though Matt Bomer, Ian Somerhalder and Henry Cavill still remain as the top three contenders to land the role of Christian Grey in the movie adaption of "Fifty Shades of Grey," there is another name that has been making an appearance. Chris Hemsworth, has not gained as much popularity as the other names, but he has been seen on several different lists.
The Australian actor who recently starred in "Thor: The Dark World," has recently popped back up in the rumor mill to play sexy, billionaire Christian Grey. Policymic writes that Hemsworth has the build and physique needed to play the role.
"At 6'4, Hemsworth would provide the imposing physique E.L. James says the fictional character of Christian Grey possess in the book," the website writes. "He also comes with a set of deep blue eyes that would come in handy during the book's episodes-and upcoming movie scenes-where Grey seduces and hypnotizes Anastasia Steele into following him into the "Red Room of Pain" and submitting to his darkest fantasies."
The actor has kept relatively quiet about whether he would be interested in the role but did tell Celebuzz in a 2012 interview that he was aware the his name had mentioned for the part.
"Ah, no someone mentioned it to me... I was like, 'What is it? I dunno, maybe I'm interested.' I'm not going to say anything," he told the celebrity website.
His name has also been mentioned as a potential Elliot Grey, Christian Grey's tall and broad-shoulder older brother. According to the Examiner, Hemsworth's "blend of power and sex appeal on screen would be a perfect mix for Elliot."
Joining Hemsworth in the rumor mill is his brother Liam. He, as well, has been rumored the play Elliot. As one website wrote, both brothers should be cast in the movie. They suggested Chris as Christian Grey and Liam as Elliot.
That could make for a very interesting cast. Both guys are easy to look at and have the look for the characters. The only thing that could be a problem is that they might too much alike. In the book, Christian and Grey are not biological brothers and do not favor. The Stir does point out however, that it would be extremely difficult to pick one brother over the other for the role if it comes down to that.
"Even though Christian and Elliot's characters in the book aren't biological brothers since both were adopted, it still couldn't hurt to have them share the same strikingly good looks," the website writes. "If anything, it will only make their characters seem even more intriguing."
