Actress Arrested for Ricin Laced Letters to Obama, Bloomberg

Authorities have arrested an actress who told the FBI that her husband had sent ricin laced letters to President Barack Obama and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg for doing the deed herself, according to the Washington Post.

Shannon Guess Richardson, of New Boston, Texas, is a mother of five and is currently pregnant. It is not yet clear what she will be charged of in the case.

Richardson is an actress who has played minor roles on TV shows such as "The Walking Dead," "The Vampire Diaries," and the film "House from Hell."

FBI agents were seen going in and out of Richardson's house wearing protective clothing in case of hazardous materials. Richardson had called the FBI to implicate her husband in the sending of the letters, it was at this time that the FBI began an investigation into Richardson, reports CBS News.

Nathaniel Richardson, the husband of Shannon, was in the process of going through a divorce with Shannon. Nathaniel's attorney, John Delk, told the Associated Press that he believed his client was being set up.

"There are a lot of factors I'm aware of that indicate (Nathaniel Richardson) was set up in this deal by her," Delk told reporters.

The letters were sent to President Obama, Mayor Bloomberg and also to an office for the gun control advocacy group run by Bloomberg from Shreveport, La., just a short drive away from New Boston.

The letters contained very small amounts of ricin and had an identical message.

"You will have to kill me and my family before you get my guns," the letter read. "Anyone wants to come to my house will be shot in the face. What's in this letter is nothing compared to what I've got planned for you."

The letters never made it to their intended recipients and according to the U.S. Postal Service they never presented any sort of health risk, according to ABC News.
