The CEO of DreamHack has been sent out to pasture one month before the massive European eSports festival and gaming expo begins, ending an internal conflict between the DreamHack board and its public face.

Robert Ohlén, DreamHack's longtime leader, was "relieved of his duties," a company spokesman told The Daily Dot. That evening (Swedish time) Ohlén fired off a few thinly veiled tweets indicating that he'd be canned. Here are a couple of the more enlightening ones:

DreamHack will name a new CEO today (Monday), the spokesman said; the person is likely to be Markus Lindmark, a former event manager for the company, according to The Daily Dot.

DreamHack had very humble origins as just a LAN party in Malung, Sweden in 1994 before budding into the world's largest computer gaming festival, according to Guinness World Records. Its spring edition this year drew 21,000 visitors. In 2012, it partnered with Major League Gaming and the Electronic Sports League to implement a unified competition structure and a universal eSports ranking system for all games sanctioned by the three promotions.

DreamHack Winter 2014 is due to kick off Nov. 27 in Jönköping, Sweden.
