“Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” actor Jesse Eisenberg could be joining another DC movie franchise.

Eisenberg, who plays Lex Luthor in the upcoming film, is reportedly in talks to star in the “Suicide Squad” movie, according to Deadline. The “Batman v. Superman” actor joins Will Smith, Tom Hardy and Margot Robbie in the list of actors rumored to be close to signing deals with the production.

For those unfamiliar with the “Suicide Squad," the DC comics follow a group of super villains tasked to perform high-risk black ops missions for the government. The film is expected to hit theaters some time in 2016.

Speaking of “Batman v. Superman,” Eisenberg opened up about his villain role during an interview with TotalFilm back in August. The 30-year-old actor was adamant fans would enjoy the upcoming installment.

"There are some indications of how the character should behave based on the script, and then as actor makes it his or her own," Eisenberg said. "I got to know one of the writers really well, Chris Terrio, and we were able to discuss things at length and figure out who this person is to create a real psychology behind what is, perhaps, in a comic book, a less than totally modern psychology. I can only say I've been asked to play an interesting role: a complicated, challenging person."

Eisenberg added he didn’t take on the role of Luthor so that his name could be attached to an assumed blockbuster film. The actor enjoyed the script and would’ve done it even if there was no hype attached to "Batman v. Superman."

"They asked me if I wanted to play the part before they sent me the script. I'm not sure how it worked, but it's something I read with the understanding that I could do the role,” he told TotalFilm. “You know, they don't just hand the scripts out. But I really liked it on its own terms. I would do it if it was for free and it was tiny."

“Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” is set to hit theaters March 25, 2016.
