‘Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together’ To Fund The American Red Cross' Sandy Relief Efforts

Thousands of people who suffered terrible loses due to the Hurricane Sandy hit the land, are now getting relief funds from "Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together" - a live benefit concert that was held Friday night.

NBC Universal hosted the concert lasting an hour with a list of celebrities who performed at the night to donate money towards the cause which went to American Red Cross. Matt Lauer, "Today" show's hosted the concert and followed by Christina Aguilera, Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Billy Joel, Mary J Blige and Jon Bon Jovi.

As the concert proceedings began, all the singers showed their full support towards the aid victims. Sting played acoustic version "Message in a Bottle." Aerosmith sang "Dream On" the best way we could imagine.

Mary J. Blige then sang many inspirational numbers with every phrase speaking of the hope and the message she wanted to convey. She sang "Living Proof" which was originally recorded for the movie "The Help.

Bruce Springsteen arrived after a request by Jon Stewart and Brian Williams who also hosted the show. Springsteen dedicated his song "to all those who put their lives on the line," and the band played "The Land of Hope and Dreams." Springsteen concluded his song by saying, "God bless you all, God bless the Jersey Shore."

"We may not be able to rebuild their homes, we may not be able to give them electricity," Stewart added. "By donating money, we can give people hope that they've not been forgotten."
