There's a new name in the "Fifty Shades" rumor mill for Anastasia Steele and Kate Kavanagh. "Arrow" star Katie Cassidy is said to be a good contender for the lead role of Anastasia Steele or the supporting role of Kate Kavanagh.
FanShare describes the feisty Kate as "Ana's best friend and roommate, and the reason behind Ana's initial meeting with sexy billionaire Christian Grey." They also describe her as a wealthy blonde. In the book "Fifty Shades of Grey," Steele describes her as someone who is curvy, vivacious and beautiful.
FanShare suggests Cassidy as a good choice to land the role of the best friend because she "not only shares the same name as the character"... but she is "feisty enough to play the gorgeous part."
Cassidy also landed on International Business Times' list of top ten actresses who could play Kate Kavanagh.
The 26-year-old actress plays Laurel Lance on the hit show "Arrow." She is also known for her roles in "Supernatural," "Melrose Place," and "Gossip Girl."
Cassisy's name has also appeared on other lists as the lead role of Anastasia Steele.
Astrochicks picked Cassidy to be there top choice for Steele. They described Steele as a "pale-browned hair girl with blue eyes too big for her face." Based off that description Cassidy might be better suited to play Kavanagh. The "Arrow" actress might not be able to pull off the innocent college-girl look as well as she could pull off the sexy and feisty look of Kavanagh.
According to Wetpaint, Cassidy is definitely interested in the role of Kavanagh. She supposedly tweeted a link to a story about her playing the best friend with another tweet directly after saying "yes please."
