Free agent Michael Beasley remains an option for the Los Angeles Lakers, even more so with the Miami Heat uninterested in re-signing him.  Beasley, though, reportedly wants a bigger deal than the Lakers would consider offering.

Beasley, whom the Lakers worked out twice, reportedly believes he is worth more than a minimum-salary contract.

"The former No. 2 overall pick has worked out for the Lakers twice and while no contract has been offered that doesn't mean Beasley's workouts didn't go well," Bryan Rose of Fansided wrote Wednesday.  "In fact, it's believed Beasley (who is allegedly attempting to shape up this offseason) looked very good.  So good, in fact, that he wanted more than a league minimum contract the Los Angeles Lakers were apparently willing to offer."

Teams aren't exactly lining up for Beasley, though.  Remaining in Miami isn't an option, seemingly because of the Heat's lack of interest in bringing him back.

"No surprise here: Michael Beasley won't be back with the Heat, agent Jared Karnes said Tuesday," Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald wrote.  "The Heat never made an offer, preferring instead to sign journeyman Shawne Williams, whose career hasn't been nearly as productive as Beasley's."

The Indiana Pacers were also reportedly interested in Beasley after Paul George's season-ending leg injury, but the team no longer appears to be considering signing him.

Beasley looked improved last season with Miami, but he didn't put up staggering numbers.  His history of off-the-court issues also might be a deterrent for prospective teams.
