Simon Cowell took to Twitter to clear up rumors that British boy-band One Direction could soon split up.
So much has been said about the members of 1D potentially parting ways, even some of the band members have come forward to dash rumors. To put an end to the chatter, producer and founder of the band Simon Cowell took to Twitter over the weekend to confirm the band's solidarity.
"Just to clear up the rumors it is my guess and my hope One D will stay together for a very long time," he tweeted. "The boys are having the best time. And as I said recently their new album is really really good."
Surprisingly, the "X Factor" judge was singing a different tune a few months back, when he didn't rule out the possibility of One Direction disbanding in the future.
Rumors of a potential "One Direction" breakup began after rock band Kodaline told Digital Spy that Harry Styles had been working with them on a few songs.
"It was really strange how they came about," frontman Steve Garrigan told the tabloid at Glastonbury. "He just turned up to a show, and he likes our music. We had a bit of free time and so we went to the studio and wrote a song. It was good fun."
When asked whether the song will feature in One Direction's upcoming album, Garrigan said he wasn't sure because "there are hundreds of songs flying around."
"It could be on his album if he does something, but I don't know. Nothing is set in stone," he added.
The rumors gained some credence because the boy band is very rarely seen hanging together nowadays. However, the negative rumors were shot down by another 1D member, Liam Payne, who clarified that they were all just busy writing songs for their newest album. Styles also echoed similar sentiments in an interview with Metro.
"We're not breaking up. We've spent every day together for months and I forgot what my mum looked like. It's just holidays... We're on WhatsApp messaging each other all the time, talking about song ideas and just funny stuff from our day," Styles said.
However, in another interview with Breathecast, Niall Horan, the 20-year-old member of the band, mentioned that each of them was also spending time focusing on solo projects.
