It looks like “Assassin’s Creed: Rogue” won’t be coming to the Wii U this November as Ubisoft claims their fan base is weak on the Nintendo market.

During an interview with Game Informer, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot explained their development priorities lie in next-gen consoles. It’s not to say the company is abandoning last-gen console, but they cannot justify developing a game that won’t sell on a specific platform.

“What we see is that this year is still fine for the PS3 and 360, but next year because they are selling very quickly, we’ll move to the new hardware,” Guillemot told Game Informer. “After 2015, it will be hard for us to create games for those systems.”

“It’s very simple,” Guillemot added later on in the interview. “What we see is that Nintendo customers don’t buy Assassin’s Creed. Last year, we sold in very small number.”

Though “Assassin’s Creed: Rogue” won’t be coming to the Wii U, Ubisoft’s hacker-inspired title “Watch Dogs” will be released on the Nintendeo gaming system.

Guillemot added Ubsioft wouldn’t consider making their titles exclusive to one next-gen console, as they are aware most gamers can’t afford to own both an Xbox and PlayStation systems.

“I think it makes the publisher more important in the player’s mind,” Guillemot told Game Informer. “Often, people are only interested in one brand from a publisher, so they don’t look for other brands. When you buy into something like Access, you can try other things for free and discover other things you like. It’s a way to make sure gamers can get more info on what we do and the diversity of our portfolio.”

“Assassin’s Creed: Rogue” will be released to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on Nov. 11. “Assassin’s Creed: Unity” will hit store shelves on Oct. 28 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
