GMC 2014 Sierra Denali Boasts Highest Towing Power Among Light-Duty Trucks; Option For 6.2L V-8 Engine

General Motors says its new 2014 Sierra Denali will possess the most towing power of any light-duty truck available, according to the Washington Post.

The newest Denali will be able to tow up to 12,000 pounds or 6 tons. It also boasts an option for a 6.2 liter V-8 which carries approximately 420 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque.

The standard engine for the Denali will be the same as the Chevy Silverado, a 5.3 liter. This will provide an EPA-estimated 23 mph highway on certain models and 355 hp.

Currently there has been no confirmed EPA estimates on the 6.2-liter V-8. This engine will also be an option for the Sierra 1500 SLT.

In addition to the possible engine quality and towing power, the 2014 Sierra Denali will also feature a slew of luxury qualities.

According to a press release on GMC.com, the Denali’s new eight-inch LCD display can either be used to find directions, listen to music or the radio, or change certain settings within the car. Features include five USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity, and an Intellilink-equipped navigation radio, among other upgrades.

The Denali also sports a speakers system by Bose, a heated steering wheel and includes "projector-style headlamps with LED signature daytime running lights.”

“The 2014 Sierra Denali has a combination of performance, capability and luxury that no other pickup can match,” said Vice President of GMC Marketing Tony DiSalle. “It leaves no boxes unchecked for those owners looking for the ultimate expression of ‘Professional Grade.’”

The GMC 2014 Sierra Denali will hit dealerships later this year. The truck’s price has not been confirmed.
