With so many awards under his belt for his acting contributions, is Leonardo DiCaprio ready to make the jump off the screen and onto the director's chair?
According to GQ Australia, the magazine sat down with the "Great Gatsby" actor asking him if he would ever make the transition from actor to director.
"I've been talking about [directing] a lot," said the actor, who will grace the cover of the next issue of GQ Australia. "But I'm still not sure I'm going to do it. When you're a director you have so many different elements you need to be in control of."
With directing, there comes a lot of stress and pressure and DiCaprio, 38, is not sure whether he could handle it. Despite no directing experience, the star has taken the role as a producer in many films such as "The Aviator" and "The Ides of March."
"I get very obsessive when I do movies and it encompasses my life," he said. "And I don't know how I'd react to 200 different people asking me questions. I might spiral off into some other dimension of obsessiveness. For now, playing the character and being responsible for myself is what I'm doing."
The Golden Globe winner ended his answer with some uncertainty, "You never know. I might give it a try. Because it does seem fun."
DiCaprio's newest film "The Great Gatsby" was released earlier this month and the star is expected to reunite with director Martin Scorsese in the film "The Wolf of Wall Street" expected to be released later this year.
