The man who was forced to put down his McDonald's when he thought he heard a woman asking for help next door to his Cleveland home, won't have to worry about sacrificing his lunch for the rest of his life.
Ohio kidnapping victims rescuer Charles Ramsey has received a plethora of offers for unlimited burgers at various burger joints in his hometown, according to USA Today.
Ramsey will receive a "Chuck Card" valid at more than 12 Cleveland-area restaurants that he can use to get free burgers anytime he likes, The Plain Dealer in Cleveland reports.
"We want to honor our local hero with local food," Scott Kuhn of the Driftwood Restaurant Group told the newspaper. Driftwood runs four of the restaurants offering Ramsey free burgers, according to the newspaper. "He stopped his meal midway through to help those women. We're now making sure he has other opportunities to go out and fully enjoy his burger."
Ramsey has also had a burger named after him. The restaurant where he works as a dishwasher launched the "Ramsey Burger" in light of the interview Ramsey gave to a local television news station following his rescue of three captured females in Cleveland, according to USA Today.
Ramsey kicked in the door of his neighbor Ariel Castro when he heard a woman asking for help. Castro faces kidnapping and rape charges for the rescued victims Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight, who all vanished between 2002 and 2004. Berry's 6-year-old daughter was also among victims in the home. Castro had allegedly been holding the girls captive for years since their disappearance.
